“Interested in this laptop and have read that the apache open office 4.1.5 word processor can be downloaded, instead of purchasing Office 365. If this is so, and I purchased the laptop at a Best Buy, would someone be there that could set this up for me?”

Hello Best Buy customer Jude and thank you for asking this question as a somewhat detailed answer has the potential of helping a lot of other Best Buy customers engage in the successful downloading of the Apache OpenOffice 4.1.5 software. Here are the following instructions which I have personally drafted and refer to when I am doing set up of any new laptop which I purchase from Best Buy => To download Apache OpenOffice 4.1.5 on Windows 10: Enter www.openoffice.org into the URL address bar => click “I want to download Apache OpenOffice” => select your operating system [i.e., Windows (EXE)] => select “English” => click “download full installation” => a “new” window will open & the download will begin => click “OPEN” => see “new” window that asks “Do you want to allow the following program to make changes…” => click “yes”=> the next window says “welcome” & click “next” => on the “choose install location” choose “desktop” => click “install” => see “preparing to install” => see “welcome to the installation wizard for OpenOffice 4.1.5” => click “next” => for customizer information page, enter “HP" (i.e., if that is the identifier you wish to enter!) for user name => Finish => see “Installation Wizard completed” => click “finish.” Please note Best Buy customer Jude that you "may" --or-- "may not" have to "minimize" the screen to see the progress of the final stages of the Apache OpenOffice 4.1.5 download. When all is complete, the Apache OpenOffice icon should have populated (i.e., become visible) on your laptop's desktop saver screen. I would recommend that you "right click" onto that icon and then pin it to your Windows 10 OS (a.k.a. operating system) START MENU "and" on your lower task bar for easy access. I incorporate the use of a Brother printer with the use of the Apache OpenOffice 4.1.5 software and they "work" very well together plus Brother brand tech support cannot be beat--in my opinion! Please don't forget that there is a lot more to Apache OpenOffice 4.1.5 than just the Word-type function.
