• As long as he doesn't require a stable network connection, yes. It is a Windows PC, and will run any Windows application. It has an HDMI port to connect to a TV/Monitor/projector.

• Yes, this model would work quite well for doing PowerPoint. Do note that it does not come with PowerPoint preinstalled and it will need to be purchased separately.
