“Will the remote turn my TV on/off and control volume?”

The roku remote included with the bar controls my 3 year old samsung 8000 power on/off and the bar's volume control like a champ. Where previously I used the samsung remote for power, yamaha remote for their sound bar and roku stick remote for channels, that non-sense is now handled by one roku remote. The sound bar comes with optical and hdmi/arc cables for which i used the arc tv input, can't say if optical would work the same for volume control. gl
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have mine hooked up to a projector and at first it did turn the projector on/off and yes it does do volume. After the latest update it no longer turns on/off the projector but this is my favorite Roku.... by far.
