This roku sound bar is awesome! It sounds great and turns my 10 yr old flat screen tv into a smart tv! It’s easy to set up and use, and looks great mounted on my wall under the tv! The remote is useful because it turns the tv on and off so I don’t have to use the tv remote as well. An added bonus is the iPhone app which turns my iPhone into a controller! One item provides great sound plus smart tv capabilities. After using this product for 13 months I can honestly say that roku sound bar is one of my favorite purchases!

Purchased the Roku sound bar Along with the sub woofer. I am very pleased with the sound and on screen options. Highly recommend. I’ve purchased a high end Sony sound bar a few years ago. While the sound quality is good, it fails to connect many times despite being connected properly to a Sony tv. Won’t ever go that route again.

I love it! If you like Roku and want a soundbar and Roku Ultra in one then don't hesitate. I returned a terrible Samsung soundbar and purchased this and I couldn't be happier. Beats the Samsung hands down. You won't be dissapointed!

This really gives our a great sound. Have it in a room where my AC unit is so without this i can't hear my tv when the AC cones on. Worth every peny. Paired with the subwoofer and this room is now my favorite room for watching tv. Plan to get one for my actual tv room but i have an av system there already.

Hooked up easy and it's great having a built in Roku for our Xfinity app. The problem is the speech clarity is not very good. It is as if the treble is turned down to -5. There is no way to adjust this and the speech clarity adjustment has little to no effect. Not bad for the price considering you get a Roku 4K streaming stick built in and if you bundle the sub woofer which is excellent and pairs easy all for $249 it is not a bad deal. If you are an audiophile this sound bar is not for you. Best sound for the price though.

I’ve gotten SO many ‘nice sound bar’ comments! It sound amazing, I can listen to Pandora with mega bass in the shower...the whole house is bumpin!
I don’t like the start up tho, but I’m an impatient person...lol

Roku has a winner! Was quite surprised to hear how good the audio quality was. Being able to pair via Bluetooth makes the system really versatile. Love to finally be able to control the volume AND mute too! I hear the only knock is the lack of a network connection, although if you have enough bandwidth, even 4K shouldn't be an issue. My one wish, is to include more control over the EQ settings (bass, mids, treble) instead of "sound mode", which I'm guessing is useful if using a sub and "speech clarity" (boosts high-mids). One other thing - I wish the 4 preset buttons on the remote were programmable. Love everything else about it!

Not impressed with the sound. Odd issue for me - the remote distance is not very far. Sound quality is just ok.

Brand response from Roku Team

Hi there, thank you for your feedback! For optimum sound performance, ensuring you have proper placement is key. Be sure that the front edge of your Smart Soundbar is flush with the front edge of the shelf it’s placed on. You'll also want to avoid placing it inside a closed space like a cabinet or TV stand.
As an additional tip, you can fine-tune your listening experience by adjusting settings like sound modes, speech clarity, and volume modes. This should help to tailor the audio settings to your liking.
If you're still having trouble with your remote, we recommend visiting Find more details on our helpful FAQ article at https://support.roku.com/article/208755708. There are a few troubleshooting techniques that could help improve your range.

This little sounder is great sounding. I actually replaced a $900.00 Samsung soundbar with this one. And of course, you also get Roku 4K streaming. And non are more simply and work as easy as the Roku. And I have Apple TV and Alexa TV in the other rooms. The Firebox has made huge improvements, but if it ever takes a dump, I will replace with a Roku box.
This Role soundbar actually sounds better than the more expensive one I had with a separate woofer. It has a simple adjustment for bass on this and on Labor Day, I am going to buy the woofer that is sold separately. really don't need it, but the whole package is so reasonably priced, why not, if I can get it on sale. And my LG TV remote paired to the rook instantly.

We've been looking at TVs because our old one (a 2008) is finally starting to give way, but it's been so good and we are slow to replace our things. We saw this soundbar while we were in the store and thought it might be a good sound supplement for watching movies, so we gave it a whirl. We did not realize it was going to actually take the place of our roku box. It IS a roku, not JUST a soundbar for one! All we had to do was attach the optical cord to our TV and it was made itself right at home. It walked us through the set up process just like any roku would. Somehow the remote powers our TV on as well. It remarkable. We will, at some point, be purchasing the subwoofer as well, but honestly our neighbors might hate us. The soundbar alone can get very loud. We keep it around 18, which is low-scale volume. We are very pleased with this product.

Great idea. We have 7 TV’s in our home and we wanted one platform for all of them. We liked the Simplicity of Roku. Also, the number of apps/channels available was amazing.
We currently have three ROKU stream bars and one ROKU sound bar. What I love about these items is that you can add a wireless subwoofer and wireless rear speakers and it sounds incredible.
Now for my review of the sound bar.. SUPER SIMPLE set-up. Plug this into your ARC port and you are set. If you don’t not have an ARC port simply plug it into an HDMI and you are off and running.
Sound quality is better then I expected. However we do have the ROKU subwoofer and rear ROKU rear speakers. The processing for the ROKU platform is quick without delays. It works FANTASTIC with AirPlay as well. (Just add the app.)
Here is we’re I am torn. I said earlier that I also have three stream bars. Two of them has the exact same set-up as this sound bar. (Subwoofer & rear speakers) Here is we’re my issue lies. The stream bar does an ever so slightly better job with sound. The dialogue is a bit more crisp with the stream bar, it has a far smaller footprint, better bluetooth connection and it costs less.
Both products are amazing and ROKU has done an outstanding job at combining their streaming platform into a premium sound system. In fact the stream bar (I think) has better sound quality then the Bose Solo 5 and just a bit below, the much more expensive, Sonos Beam. Plus the ROKU gives you their streaming platform.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I have a home FULL of Sonos products and I love them. However, when it comes to price, the ROKU stream bar wins.
Okay, so when in comes down to it, the sound bar has decent sound, not a lot of bass, but it is “okay”. (Add the subwoofer and you will very happy.). I would recommend the stream bar (with the subwoofer) and save yourself some $50 and a bit better sounding system.
Lastly, I have seen soooo many reviews that say stream bar does not give room filling sound. Simply not true. We have it set up with our 85” Samsung in our living room that is 35’ x 25’ (w/the subwoofer and rear speakers) and it sounds amazing.

Soundbar works as intended. Easily paired up with television no issues whatsoever. I purchased a Bose soundbar from Costco and had nothing but problems with it. This by far is the better option and it's in the same price range. Also the quality for the price range is excellent. Anybody wants a affordable soundbar this is the one to buy it will work well with any television.

It was quite easy to set up the Roku Soundbar. The built in Roku integration works as well as the stand-alone Roku, which is a good thing since Roku makes a good product. Sound is a definite improvement over TV speakers, and while this is only a Dolby 2.0 soundbar the ability to upgrade it by adding a subwoofer makes it a good value for the price.

This was the best and least expensive alternative to wired in ceiling speakers. I have set up permanent sound in three different houses and decided to just get a sound bar this time. I bought it, took it home and set it up in about one hour. That includes entering my passwords for every streaming account. The sound is all most people will ever want or need. I have not purchased the bass but I have found the soundbar is good enough for my small media room.
I decided four stars because there is no HBO Max on Roku!!!!!

This soundbar is more then I ever expected. The sound quality thus far has been prefect for my projector located under my backyard patio. To be able to have a full Roku + Sound all in one is GENIUS!! I can now watch and listen to everything over one cable. All for under $200!!

This thing is the best. It sounds great and it has Roku installed. I loved it so much that I got one for my parents. I got the subwoofer later and it makes a big difference. I'm waiting for it to go on sale to get one for my parents next. It's like being in a movie theater.

Built in Bluetooth failed after three weeks.Would no longer connect to our PC's or Roku sub woofer.Factory resets and Roku support were unable to fix the issue.Best buy exchanged unit. Also discovered during this troubleshooting that the built in Bluetooth is NOT Compatible with most Bluetooth devices.
Bluetooth does connect with our PC's and phones but not our Bluetooth receivers or headsets.Roku verified that it does not connect to stand alone Bluetooth receivers, headsets or non Roku Bluetooth enabled speakers.
Sound bar functions are easy to setup and sound performance
is about average but not exceptional. The Roku built in feature is excellent, very good signal and speed and the remote is RF not infrared which makes it exceptional in its function. The remote does not need to be directly pointed at the soundbar to function.
If the Bluetooth functionality was better and the original soundbar Bluetooth functionality had not failed I would rate it 5 stars
