• The Roku Smart Soundbar is always on. The only way to turn it off would be to unplug it. Mine works well with regular broadcast television, but my functionality is somewhat limited since I don't have the HDMI-ARC specification on my HDTV. The sound comes through to the soundbar just fine though using the provided optical cable. You will have to use the volume control on the Roku remote instead of the HDTV volume control.
