• Yes, absolutely. I hooked my Roku sound bar up to a Samsung tv and I can control my tv volume and power the tv on and off with my Roku remote.

• Yes and No - You would have to use the TV's remote to operate the basic TV functions - such as input selection - When you refer to a "regular TV" that TV has to have an HDMI input in order for you to view the Roku streaming channels on your TV and then the TV also has to have a digital optical audio output, so you can get the sound from the TV to soundbar. However, you can watch all your streaming movies and shows using the Roku remote.
