A:Answer The Total Tech Support which I have had for over a year now is largely a sales hype. The 24/7 assistant is a chat available only person someone without ANY useful information, each & every time I have contacted them, including tonight. The chat sessions invariably want lots of info from YOU and then direct you to call the store or schedule an appointment. I tried using it again tonight. The in store tech support is occasionally helpful and often useless.
Oh well.
In house consultations are also just hype, but that is another topic. The Total Tech support is Supposed to be about "accessibility" does Not include repairing a defective device (it is more for dumb questions of computer illiterate people, and God Forbid you try to improve your security; you get the "most people do not have hackers or need to worry about security", wow, what amazing information that is!
and what a dismissive turn off, to hear from someone who does not want to improve my security.)
The protection plan for one year is a results driven functional warranty but if the device has a one year warranty then you Do Not Need it.
The GS will send devices off , in my experience, so you might as well, send it off to the manufacturer , insured, and hound them.
