A:AnswerCongratulations on your new computer! We know how important it is to be able to protect a device, as well as your wallet, from costly repairs. You can learn more about our Total Tech Support program at https://www.bestbuy.com/totaltechsupport.
A:AnswerCongratulations on your new TV! With Geek Squad Protection, you are covered for things like power surge repair, pixel repair, burn-ins and much more within our Geek Squad Protection Terms and Conditions found here, https://www.bestbuy.com/usw/termsconditions/anonymous?CMP=ocss. While we wouldn't be able to say how long the TV was used, as we wouldn't have that exact information, you can rest easy with Geek Squad Protection. Feel free to give us a call at (800) 433-5778 if you have any additional questions.
A:AnswerHello! Our Geek Squad Protection (GSP) plans can no longer be extended after they expire. However, if your purchase is still within our Return & Exchange Promise, which may be found here- https://www.bestbuy.com/site/help-topics/return-exchange-policy/pcmcat260800050014.c?id=pcmcat260800050014, you should be able to exchange the two year plan for the five year plan by visiting your local Best Buy store! ^Jenni
A:AnswerAs far as I can tell it’s a very narrow list of things they cover , they wouldn’t cover a screen that wouldn’t turn on. I don’t know what caused the cracks in the screen but Best Buy will assume YOU broke it somehow making the protection worthless .
A:AnswerHi there. Thanks for reaching out about this! Congrats on your purchase! The protection does have to be purchased through the store after the purchase. You can either head in and add that on in person or you can likely do it over the phone if that works better for you. You can find information about your local store at www.bestbuy.com/storelocator.
A:AnswerHi Amy. Thanks for your great question! We'd recommend that you hold onto it in case it needs to be transported back to the store. If you don't have space for it, it's not necessary but can help in the case of a repair. If you have any further questions, feel free to either reach out to us in your local store or by calling us at (800) GEEK-SQUAD or (800) 433-5778.
A:AnswerBefore you buy the tv check the price on the protection plan Best buy is always changing the price when the tv goes on sale. So you really never get a sale. I have been watching two TV's for awhile now and they raise and lower the protection plan when it goes on sale.
A:AnswerDon't do it. Dealing with GeekSquad has been a total nightmare. Here is my experience:
Its been 6 weeks now that I've been waiting for my TV to be fixed, which was finally supposed to be fixed in 3 days. Unfortunately, Best Buy/Geek Squad just canceled on me again for the 4th time, now pushing back the approximate part arrival date to another 2 weeks from now. So it'll be at least 2-3 months before I actually get this fixed, if they don't cancel on me for a 5th time.
This is an absolute joke. I've bought $10,000-20,000 of TVs, appliances, laptops, GPUs, etc from Best Buy over the years, and I almost always get the GeekSquad protection plan.
This will be the LAST time Best Buy/Geek Squad gets my business. And people wonder why Best Buy is struggling, while their competitors like Amazon are dominating them. I am a reasonable person, I am willing to wait a reasonable amount of time. But making someone wait 2-3 months for a repair is totally unethical and horrible customer service.
A:AnswerYou can attempt the Geek Squad protection if the plan is not expired. The TV itself may also have a warranty as well that may not be expired. I would look into both. I had this happen on a Vizio TV. I summed it up to the brand/poor manufacturing.
A:AnswerIn the Tv. I tried to do the same but something is missing or broken inside the TV. Also, tried to attach a TV Antenna, Digital TV Antenna Indoor for Smart TV, Dose not work well on the Sony. Recently purchased a LG Oled TV on Black Friday. Everything works. The same price on both TV's. Something missing inside the Sony.
A:AnswerGo to the apps. The web browser app for the internet is called “Amazon Silk”. It should just say “internet”, in the App Store. There, you can download it. The keyboard for the browser works by using your remote control. It displays a keyboard on the screen. I thought of trying a keyboard via the USB port. But I don’t know how well that would work. So for the Internet; I’m just sticking to to my tablet or computer for now. Anyways; I hope this helps.
