That model does not have built-in capabilities, as it is a countertop model and it does not have a compatible trim kit. It also has specific air clearances necessary for it to operate properly and those are: 3 inches on each side, 3 inches on the top, and 1 inch in the rear. A:AnswerI purchased this kit and GE microwave to go with a month ago, I have not installed it yet, but did checked to make sure that everything would work. The trim kit specifies which microwave ovens are compatible. If the model you purchased is one of the ones listed, you should be ok. This trim kit contains all the parts needed as shown in the picture and description they put up on the website !
A:AnswerYou have the wrong microwave model for a trim kit. You bought a countertop microwave. I made the same mistake, so return the countertop unit (Best Buy did that for me as it was their mistake)t and buy the GE builtin unit. Mine was a GE Monogram. You can order a trim kit for that. Two sizes 27" or 30". there is also a 1.1 CF Monogram that has it's own trim kit (separate price). It fits in a thinner upper cabinet. Be sure to verify the depth of your existing cabinet. I actually have both units installed in my home, though the 1.1 CF Microwave has not arrived yet (it has be a couple months back ordered) . I did get the trim kit for it right away.

However, using the dimensions you provided for your cutout, you may have an issue with the depth. Both the width and height are perfect, but model PEM31DFBB requires at least 16" in depth.
