• It will melt and recycle. The amount if time depends in how fast the ice melts. The longer its on making ice the longer it takes to melt.

• Thank you for your question. The Hamilton Beach Ice Maker will product up to 28lbs of ice per day. If more ice is needed, a new cycle will need to be started. Ice left in the appliance will remain frozen.
