Yes if you want to reinstall it in your existing cabinet. I just put it the old cabinet until I had it installed by a technician. My old unit's trim kit/microwave didn't work with the replacement microwave. If you're handy, you probably could do it yourself....I'm not so I needed technical help. New trim kit is $200. Good luck.

If you're just installing it on a shelf in a cabinet without a wall oven, it's not necessary, unless you want to mount it. The microwave works without the trim kit.
