How do I know that what I'm looking at is a smart tv null

In the description, it will describe it as having wireless capabilities. This one is not a smart tv.. You would need a separate streaming device if you plan on watching Netflix, etc with this TV.

90% of the time the box will boast "Smart TV." They may also say things like "Roku built in, Amazon streaming built in, Apps available, Netflix capable."

All smart tvs will actually say Smart TV in the title.

It will have a list of apps on the box.

If you are looking for a TV that is great for NetFlix, Youtube, etc...this is the TV for you. I got one for my daughter, and she absolutely loves it. Helped me get rid of Cable.
