“I have TiVo set up on this TV. It shows up as one of the many apps when I turn the TV on. Is there ANY way to simply open the main screen with live TV or any specific app rather than going to the remote and having to choose a screen i.e. Netflix, HDMI1?”

No unfortunately not but you can turn off all other connections so it will show up on your log in page and you just click on the Tuner or input you get video from.
