• You would have to use the VCR functions to record properly, and a blank tape would be required. Additionally, you can rewind live tv (via antenna) if you use a thumb drive.

• You can't. Modern players rarely work as recorders. You can pay to have your video cassettes converted to DVD or you can seek out newer copies
