“When I turn the tv on, I want it to go directly to live tv which is connected to a cable box via HDMI 1. I get the home screen with two selections(HDMI and MEDIA) from which I can select HDMI and I then have TV. Confusing to kids who want TV.”

You can rename the hdmi sources on the TV in settings.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.In the settings the is an option to go to the HDMI input, or any other input, you want when you power up the TV. If you want to change inputs after its powered on you just have to hit the home button on the remote. I have my daughters TV set up this way.
