No and Yes. To access the Roku application itself you do not need an additional subscription, but you will only have access to the free content/channels. The most used applications like netflix, sling, hulu, and amazon video, require individual subscriptions through each of those entities. There are also some channels like ESPN and HBO Go that permit access through your cable provider (meaning If you can watch those general channels on other tvs, you will be able to access those channels through the roku). I hope that helps, but if it doesn't check out https://www.roku.com/how-it-works .
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Roku is free, no subscription is required. There are channels on Roku that you need to subscribe to and pay for if you want to watch them, but there are also plenty of channels that are free to watch, with no subscription.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No you don't have to. I didn't have to I just use Netflix and YOUTUBE on it with my WiFI
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Roku itself just aggregates thousands of channels into one central place. The Roku service doesn't cost anything, but depending on the different channels you subscribe to through Roku, there may be monthly fees associated with it. Roku will not charge you anything, those subscription based channels will. There are thousands of free streaming channels available though with lots of content that you won't have to pay for.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You probably already have your answer, but to directly answer the question.....NO, you do not need to buy an extra subscription for ROKU. I typed in what I was looking for that I would not get with cable or regular tv stations. They came up free of any charge and I am very happy!! Once you get your tv you will be amazed at what you can get with out cable. All I have is the internet. I choose to use Netflix which has a monthly charge, and local stations. I use YouTube free as well. Very happy!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi, if you already have an existing Roku account, you will definitely be able to set it up with your current account to continue using it. The activation process will be done through Roku's website so the TV can be registered under your account. Regards, Daniel T. - Insignia Support
