• I returned my DVR boxes to cable company so I dont have to pay rental fees anymore. I now have Tivo and can record my shows.

• This is not a standalone device. A Tivo mini only works with a Tivo DVR, it extends the Tivo interface to another TV in your house. The TIVO mini is meant to keep you from paying monthly for service to your 2nd or 3rd or 4th TV.
