This can’t be a real question. This only extends a TiVo to another room and doesn’t play DVDs much less a VHS tape.

The purpose of the Tivo Mini is to stream TV shows that you have already recorded on a primary Tivo to watch in other rooms. It does NOT record anything on its own from any source - it is a streaming device only and must be used with other Tivo devices. This will NOT capture video from VHS and has no ability to create DVDs.
