This happened to us. They gave us the full purchase price of our TV toward a new TV. We got the newer, upgraded model for about $50 more. We did have to purchase another protection plan. The old protection plan ended when we used it on our broken TV. We were very happy with the service.

Please try again later.Hi Jim - if you purchase the Geek Squad Protection plan for your new TV and it has an issue that is not repairable, but covered under the plan (ex, 3 or more defective pixels) and your TV gets replaced by BBY/Geek Squad under the terms of your protection plan, the plan would be considered fulfilled. If you wanted coverage on your replacement TV, this would require the purchase of a new plan.

Due to the fact that it would cost the same or more to fix it I was able to get a new TV based on what I originally paid, although I went bigger and paid the difference. My plan continued until it was time for me to renew it.
