As far as I know from the dates I have seen given on any of my contracts, it goes from your date of purchase. Purchasing Geek Squad Protection isn’t worth the money anymore. It used to be, but it isn’t anymore.

So if your appliance comes with 1 year warranty and you buy 5-year, you only get 4 years. It would be too much in the customer's favor to extend the full five years AFTER the manufacture's warranty. They are in the business to squeeze you, not benefit you!
