A open box is suppose u brought a tv, and decided it’s not the tv you wanted u don’t like how it looks, so u return it back to Bestbuy n Geek Squad checks it n makes sure it is nothing wrong with it, so they in turn put it back on display as a open box. Me myself I have brought plenty of open box items n put insurance on it. It is still new just the box was open
