You need a knife to cut the ceiling tile (on a drop ceiling). Drywall would probably require a little saw. You'll need a screw driver to tighten the brackets (phillips). You might want a wire stripper. You might need a drill depending on what holes you need for your wires. You will also need speaker wire.

You will need a hole saw to cut the opening in the ceiling and a Phillips head screwdriver to set the clamps. I don't remember which screw heads were on the wire connections. Just be very careful when you cut the opening in the ceiling, there is not a lot of room for error. Good luck.
