Unexpectedly powerful speaker...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased these speakers on a whim. I remodeled my kitchen, and wanted be able to play music, so I decided to go with ceiling speakers. The installation was relatively simple, and once turned on...WOW! Powerful, clear, no vibration. I could've, and was about to purchase another brand based on price which was way more expensive, but figured, it's only the kitchen so I went with these. End result, great purchase. Would definitely recommend.

Good Sound, Connection Challenges
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The speakers sound great. There's not a lot of bass which others have also commented about, but for mounting above my kitchen, with the right pre-amp/receiver to push the power, they work fine. I installed these with an audio switch on the inside of the home and that pairing is great for volume control. For those of you who are going to ask whether these are perfect for your surround sound system, I am not using them for that, but I might caution that they lack the power and bass that more specific surround speakers could offer. I'm not an expert, however, just a conscientious consumer.

Excellent value & features
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am installing a whole home audio system in my home for 12 zones of audio. I had purchased the rocketfish volume knobs, and was looking for a good solution for an in ceiling 1 per room. I choose the insignia speakers for their great price #1 per pair, and ther specs#2 in the decision. I used a small batt of insulation approx 1 foot away on both sides in the ceiling bays leaving these with a great amount of audible bass, clarity and sound quality. I have let many people listen to the system and they are all amazed at the sound for the price. I bought 6 pairs - Very happy and highly reccomend

Great speakers, easy to install
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was a little worried about running wires in my attic and cutting holes in my ceiling. However after spending about 5 minutes reading the instructions, (which were easy to understand) i was able to run my wires (nothing to do with the product - which actually took the most time), and put the holes in my ceiling, and install the speakers. The sound is definitely worth the effort it took to run the wires through the walls, across the attic and to the speakers. I like the sound that they produce, and fit snugly against the ceiling. The colour was a pretty close blend to my ceiling, however is need be, i can always paint them. I recommend these to anyone.

Great speakers, great price.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Put these in my basement theatre room. The wires were already in,so install was simply cutting the holes in the ceiling using the provided template, connecting the wires (super easy), and aiming the tweeters. I didn't paint the grilles to match the ceiling paint, but that project may be cumbersome for the DIYer. I'm really happy with the sound quality, as they are crisp and clear. Great product for the money!

Great for the price! Seriously.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased them for the general purpose of sound separation for the rear a month ago. I will eventually upgrade to a better quality set just for my own personal satisfaction. There are more expensive speakers one could buy but a little tweaking of the output from my amp gives me great results. I installed these in my ceiling. I am happy with that. The install was fine. I recommend purchasing a hole cutting attachment to your drill to make for easy install.

Great sound for a great price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I installed two pair in my retail business for background music. They are sourced via a Grace digital radio and an old Sony AV receiver. They sound rich at a low volume. I was afraid that too tinny or hollow sounding would actually make it difficult for a conversation on the sales floor. Not so, the sound quality is really good, and not distracting. Added perk, after hours, I can crank it up while working with no real distortion and enjoy a nice quality sound.

Great Speakers!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I could not believe how easy these were to install. The provided template makes a nice fit for the speaker base. I ran wires first so connections were a breeze. My wife is particular about her music and she was very happy with how everything sounded. We now can walk from room to room and get the same quality and level of sound. For the money they cannot be beat.

Q: Questionwhat hardware is required for mounting the 61/2" NS-C6500 ceiling speakersIs mounting hardware, templates and instructions included in the shipping box
Asked by wag.
- A:Answer You need a knife to cut the ceiling tile (on a drop ceiling). Drywall would probably require a little saw. You'll need a screw driver to tighten the brackets (phillips). You might want a wire stripper. You might need a drill depending on what holes you need for your wires. You will also need speaker wire.

Q: QuestionHow do I remove the grill from the speaker. Trying to do ceiling mount and it appears there is no way to seperate the grill, enabeling the anchor scre
Asked by Kent.
- A:Answer I use a dental pick. Dentck makes one that you can get at any phamarcy that works perfectly. Insert the pick thru the mesh speaker cover and gently pull towards you and the cover will come off.

Q: QuestionHow are the wires hooked up to the receiver?
Asked by dondy.
- A:Answer You'll need regular speaker wires (red/black or white/black) I had a pair of wire strippers, but any sharp knife will do. You have to strip the wires and there is an easy load plug on the rear of the speaker... you press down and a hole is exposed to put the wire in, NOT your old school reciever that was a bear, easy load. We even daisy chained speakers together and had no problem getting the wire in the posts, just don't overkill it with Monster speaker wire (you don't need that kind of wattage).

Q: QuestionOn the backside of the grill is come type of thin cloth barrier. What purpose does this serve and should it be removed?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Do not remove the cloth. It dampens the sound and reduces the speaker shadow showing through the grill.

Q: QuestionAre these "stereo input" speakers?
Asked by DUUGH.
- A:Answer These are installed to a jukebox (200 watts) which has two pair of your typical speaker wires. I guess the key thing is making sure you fall into the power recommendations for the speakers.
