“Looking to go to 7.2 ch. Upgrading my home theater. I currently have 5 speakers. (all cambridge sound movie works speakers so they are a little older but work great.) I'm now looking to add to speakers in the back right behind the couch. I'm also buying the sony Model: STRDN1050 receiver. Will these speakers work fine for this or might I blow them out.”

For the same money, Yamaha has cleaner sound and lower wattage. Dirty sound destroys more speakers than power. Bic America has higher power speakers with decent electronics-best bang for the budget minded buck.

Please try again later.2 things to look at...impedance of the speakers (these are 8ohms) which should match the rest of your speakers (either 4ohms or 8 ohms) and the output wattage of your receiver. (these can handle 100w) as long as impedance matches and you don't pump more than 100 watts per channel (see your receiver specs) you should be fine.
