“Does this Yamaha works on a regular HDTV TV or do I have to have a smart TV or a 3D TV? Having trouble connect it to my HDTV TV. Can't get any surround sound or any sound from my TV.”

• I have a HD TV, not a smart TV. It works fine with mine, but I do have DirecTV which it is hooked to.

• Mine works with a regular HDTV through a hdmi cord.

• Hook up the system just like the instructions tell you to. here's the catch. On your remote there is a setting for (input) keep hitting the button until you see a setting that says( VIP 722K ). on the receiver . This is the setting for your HDTV.
