A Chromebook is a laptop, but different.. Instead of Windows 10 or Mac OS X, Chromebooks run Google's Chrome OS. These laptops are designed to be used primarily while connected to the Internet, with most applications and documents living in the cloud. Chromebook does not have a CD rom/DVD player. But a lot of people use a flash drive or a external HD. It only has a internal storage, Like a cell phone/mp3 player. This is why its a lot faster then most laptops. Don't plan on playing high end games.

The best comparison I can make between these and my PC's is that every time I start it up, it's like its brand new. Compared to my PC's. I can often open it and be up and running in 10 seconds. Many times I can complete the task at hand and put it away before my windoze PC's have updated and are just getting going and even then they keep getting slower and slower. Think of it in many ways like your phone and how quickly you can open it and look something up. There are a few differences though to be aware of. I still use the PC's primarily for Photoshop as I am not aware of a way to use that on a Chromebook with its relatively little ram and storage. Maybe the subscription plan allows it. But for 99+% of what I do on a computer, I use the Chromebook and love it.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You only surf the web, stream movies and email with chromebooks. You can also download extensions like adblock plus and open word documents but you cannot edit them. To save documents like a resume, you save/download it to google docs.
