Please try again later.The monitor does not have speakers, and connecting with an HDMI cable will cause your computer to try and use the monitor's speakers (not present in this case) - even if your computer does have speakers. This confused me at first. I found that I had to use the settings panel on my computer to manually select the speakers to be used. I think the design tried to keep the price point down, and figured if someone was spending $ to upgrade to a 27" monitor, they might be fussy about the sound quality and want to purchase their own speakers anyway. This gives you a great monitor and saves you money to spend on the speakers of your choice. My top two criteria were 27" and VESA mount. This monitor has both, and is both Mac and PC friendly. If you want a cheaper monitor with speakers and VESA mount, you might try the 27" BENQ monitor. However I could never get it to work with my Mac Mini without the screen turning a very annoying green tint on waking. I suspect this is because I had trouble getting it set up correctly - it kept saying no signal - I finally figured out how to cycle it through to the HDMI cable as input - it defaulted to some other cable type. Nothing I did ever allowed me to reset the settings. No Mac support for it. A beautiful but finicky monitor. Worked fine with my other computers, just not the Mini. If you buy it, I recommend getting the Geek Squad support from Best Buy. I tried purchasing it on Amazon because I didn't want to wait 2 weeks for Best Buy to deliver, but had to return it because it never worked with the computer I bought it for. The Acer worked beautifully right out of the box.

For the price point on this monitor, it's a very good buy! Sorry you are disappointed. You can buy a set of speakers. They'd be better if connected to your computer, rather than the monitor, however. Good luck!
