While we cannot tell you how many years the notebook will last in any environment, it is a good model for gaming and business uses. For the Google drive, where it is saved to depends on if you are creating the document in the Google Drive app it should save to the cloud. If you are creating it from a Windows app like Word, etc then it saves to the hard drive.
