They locked the bios, under clocking the ram. Lots of manufacturers do this. I think its to make it more "stable" ive tried to add 2 more 8gb sticks, from crucial. That should have worked, but causes crashes in applications and slows all the ram down to 2000mhz. I think im going to just upgrade the mother board to get away from the locked garbage that came pre-installed
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.acer limits us to 4400 unless you enable the XMP profile in the bios section and then you need ddr 5 ram that supports XPM like crucial...that's what i have in mine but according to crucial overclocking isn't as good as adding more memory.
