- Answer No, it doesn't light up, at least not on mine. I bought a small USB lamp to plug in when I need a light on the keyboard, and that works fine.

- Answer It has a lot of memory and stuff if you believe the labels. Before you spend a lot of money on MS Office, you might give a look at some of the free suites, Libre Office is the one I have run on many machines over the years. It works just fine and the price is right. I realize Bill Gates will write me our of his will for this, but that's life.

QuestionI asked previously if this laptop had a backlit keyboard and someone from Acer responded saying "yes" however, someone else recently asked about the keyboard and someone from Acer responded saying the keyboard was NOT backlit? What is the correct answer?

- Answer Acer TravelMate has a Standard PS/2 keyboard. Nothing fancy. No lighted keyboard feature.

- Answer Acer TravelMate battery life appears to be 12 hours, as reported by the on-screen battery indicator -- many variables to that. I haven't tested it down to low power.

- Answer Acer TravelMate that I bought comes with 1-month trial of MS Office 365 -- Word, Excel, PowerPoint. After trial period, decide to keep it and pay Microsoft. I'm using Open Office instead, since this is a backup device for me. But Office can be had for a price.
