I had same dilemma when purchased mine. Installed MoCA adapter prior to cable modem. I split coax cable line-in with and sent one coax cable to direct to cable modem and the other coax cable direct to MoCA adapter. Connected cable modem via ethernet wire direct to router and connected MoCA adapter direct to router. This configuration has worked excellently for me. I leveraged this to make Tivo network (Tivo Roamio plus two Tivo minis) to seamlessly connect and to enhance streaming on these devices. Working perfectly for me now!

Single Line Internet IN from street(usually a coax line it can be split for other tv lines/modems if you have multiples)->Modem->Router-> MoCA(your tv line as well for the room certain ones like dish don't play nice with this, Comcast seems to work for me and Antenna is guaranteed to work)-> to coax line you want to send it down/splitter to rooms wanting MoCA->coax outlet in the room with it->MoCA(Tv out here as well)->computer To make this Whole House split street line->modem->router->MoCA/to Coax in MoCA->Room Lines Splitter. If modem+router is in a room IE family room there is a a few prerequisites you will need MoCA Splitters and MoCA PoE Filters in addition 1.a place MoCA POE filter on the Street line into the house.->place POE filters on lines to rooms that don't want to get MoCA only tv. 1.b place MoCA POE filter on before a split to the rest of the house lines so its. Street line->splitter->(no filter->Rooms wtih no MOCA\PoE MoCA filter->rooms with MoCA)->Splitter for each type-> Room lines 2. Room line with the With MoCA and modem->Coax outlet in your room->MoCA Spliter->Poe filter to Modem->router->MoCA->second side of MoCA splitter 3. Room lines with the With MoCA->coax outlet->MoCA->computer
