“Will this device work when hooked up through a Yamaha RX-A1070? Geek squad came out and installed new receiver and Sony OLED TV and it transmits to tv in back yard but wont pass thru from the receiver.”

You might be experiencing an HDCP issue. This is the built in copyright protection that is part of. the hdmi standard. It can cause issues with video or audio not passing through between devices.. Ther is no fix that I know of.
