The thing this devices can do that a Roku or Chromecast do not do is: If your Android phone has Miracast ability (called various things on different Android phones such as SmartView, Screen Mirroring, HTC Connect, etc) you can use your cell phone data to stream content that will then project through the Actiontec ScreenBeamMini2 to your TV. You do not have to have wifi from a hotspot/router, etc. Just your cell phone data itself. This is the entire reason I have this device -- to use my cell phone data to stream content, and then display that content on my TV without using a hotspot/router or other WIFI source. This lets me use my unlimited data plan to watch online content, without using up any of the limited hotspot data on my phone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. The Samsung Galaxy S9 should have the ability to share it's screen with this device. I believe it's called "Smart View" on that phone. If you swipe down from the top of the phone to reveal the various settings (like where you can turn on/off bluetooth, etc. You should find one labeled "Smart View." Should be pretty self-explanatory from there. Side note: A Roku can do what this device can do.
