Retail box contains a disc and instruction to use the disc and can be downloaded as well. If you get a retail download card then it can only be downloaded. Either way you do it you need a Adobe account online. There is no extra cost involved but you need to use the ID to register the software and get the install code. After that you can continue without any more interaction with Adobe if you choose. Good Luck!

This is a download not disc. You go to the instructed site register your serial number they send you back an authorization code you install download and enter authorization code and BAM! your done. Keep all the emails with important information. If you already have an Adobe account you do not have to set up a new one
