I would suggest getting the free 30 day trial version from adobe. Then you see if your 10 year old is truly serious. This program can be learned by a 10 year old but he will still have to invest the time to learn it. The program come with a lot of tutorials and a help forum. It's been my experience that kids today seem to pick up on programs easier than a lot of us old folks do. I think in the long run he will be happier with this program than with a "kiddie" program. But, again let him play around with the trial version first.
