A:Answer Hey there! Our headphones work by sending vibrations from the temporal bone through the inner ear to the cochlea. Customers who benefit most from our products seem to be those with damaged ear drums, but a healthy cochlea. Even though our headphones aren't hearing devices, we have some customers who use them to assist with hearing, usually by pairing the headphones to their phone and accessing hearing aid apps. These apps (i.e., Petralex, Ear Spy, Ear Trumpet, and Hear You Now) use the mic on the phone to pick up surrounding sound and transmit it through the headphones. *Note: AfterShokz has a strong community of individuals that are hard of hearing, however; as a sport headphones company, we don't have the expertise to confirm whether our headphones can work for any particular person or medical condition.
