Yes you can upgrade the ram, there are two empty M.2 drive connections when you first purchase it. Also if you purchase the Alienware Graphics Amplifier this will allow you to use desktop graphics cards.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You can easily update the ram. However, laptops do not allow you to upgrade the graphics card since it is usually part of the motherboard. Alienware does sell an external graphics amplifier ($160), and you can use just about any graphics card in there and attach it to the back of the laptop for a nice upgrade. At 1080p though, the included 1070 is so powerful that it will be a very long time before you would need an upgrade.
