“i'm unfamiliar with the optane memory.... i tried asking dell but got run around dont think the rep. knew anymore than i do. its supposed to be 16 gb but the intel rapid storage software says 13 gb... is this damaged or is it some weird fact im unaware of”

The Optane Memory is an RAID configuration between the main hard drive and the dedicated M.2 SSD located on the PCI express. The M.2 installed is small and only holds your OS (which is mega fast), but allows for the remaining space to be used in an RAID configuration with the main SATA Hard Drive to improve read/write performance.
