- Answer I have two Jolts and each is plugged into a USB port; one on my computer and the other to my a/c charging port. Both keep these speakers well powered.

- Answer The volume is actually pretty good. It's loud. Just make sure to turn the media volume up on your phone or whatever you're connecting it to. I also have the Boom model and that is definitely loud and sounds good!
