• The cord should be long enough to reach a port on either side edge of laptop. I use a 17" laptop and the cord can reach any of the ports and the power from the computer powers the fan.

• It is usually powered thru laptop. Please try different port on your laptop as there shouldn't be an issue powering the fan via the USB port on your laptop.
