• No, there is no ethernet port for hard wiring. There is a usb port , an earphone jack and the power jack only. I do not have mine next to the router and it is picking up my wi-fi signal without any issues. Although all situations are different.

• I looked on my unit. No Ethernet port visible so it is pure Wi-Fi. There is a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack and a USB jack. The USB jack or port is only for charging a cell phone, as far as I know.
