“I would be getting this for my niece and she doesn't have a phone. So the app would have to be downloaded on her moms phone. Would the watch still work when away from the phone? And can the notifications be turned off so she's not getting her moms texts?”

Yes, basically when you first get the watch you have to sync with the app on the phone using bluetooth, then you can turn the phone's bluetooth off and it won't have anything to do with mom's phone. About once every 4-5 days you do have to sync it up if you want it to log your steps each day, etc. as it 'fills up' . I only bought mine to track steps and workouts and not connect it to my phone and it's been fine.

Please try again later.Hi there, Yes, the watch can be paired to the Mom's phone via the Zepp App and you can use the watch away from the phone , and access text notifications and call notifications can be turned off in the Zepp app --> Profile --> Band 5 --> Notifications and Reminders --> Incoming SMS --> Turn Off --> "<" Back --> Incoming Call --> Turn Off.
