No you dont need Alexa for the amazon cloud cam. And no, you dont have to be connected to the same wifi as the camera is on to see live video. As long you are connected to the internet and have decent bandwidth, you should be ok.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You do not have to have alexa for this to work. The camera is connected to the wifi but your phone does not have to be. You sign on through your amazon account and that is how you can access the camera's stream.
