• I'm hoping by now you have successfully paired your TV with Alexa. If it is a Smart TV, you will find the instructions in the Echo App, under settings. Or, you can simply ask Alexa!

• Probably has to be via wifi or Bluetooth. 1-ask alexa, or 2-google it I gave my 2nd gen echo away as a gift. So I never set it up. But you must load the echo alexa app to get anywhere.
