• They're basically the same but the Echo Plus has a built-in smart home hub to easily control your smart lights, thermostat, fans, plugs and other smart devices all without the need for an additional smart home hub.

• The Echo Plus has a built in Home Automation Hub. The Echo 2nd generation still works with home automation, but the Plus has more advanced home automation capabilities.
