• No you do not need to Mount Your phone. I keep mine either in my pocket or in the glove compartment. You do need to mount the push button thingy that comes with it but that comes with a self adhesive sticker.

• Hi Barb! Once you have set up the Echo Auto you'll be able to talk to Alexa directly through the Auto and will not need access to your phone. You'll want to make sure that the microphone on the Auto is in a good place so that Alexa can hear you. Hope that helps, have a great rest of your day!
