I had no such issue so far with my limited usage. It can clearly hear you and respond, although there is like couple of seconds lag (especially for me, since I put it in a place where I cant see it). You just need to assume it heard you and give commands. It has multiple mics, and the ability to recognize your voice amongst the noise and music is commendable.
