The look and sound. It is way louder with a little more bass.

It has a better speaker on it. I feel like the microphones on the device hear more. You don’t have to repeat yourself.

The Echo Dot 3 has a better speaker. We love to listen to our music on it when working out etc. and the sound is really a lot better on the Echo Dot 3.

The new gen (3rd) is a little more rounded and the speaker sounds a lot better than the 2nd gen one. In my opinion of course. And I do own both.
