Try unplugging it and do a reset and set it back up again.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I know this might sound silly, but try unplugging it for 10 seconds and plug back in. Also, make sure it’s properly connected to the internet. Make sure there is not a lot of background noises (i.e. TV speakers) close by. Finally, make sure you have the wake word set properly (Alexa or Echo).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Be sure to turn ON the bulb manually to start - in the lamp. Literally - the bulb is ON all the time from the lamp's perspective. Alexa turns it on or off or dims inside the bulb itself not the lamp. Second - use the phone app at tell Alexa to "discover" (find) a new "device" - in this case the bulb. Remember - the bulb must be ON manually already for Alexa to find it. Then leave it on (in the lamp) and have Alexa turn it off. No need to touch the lamp's switch once in control by Alexa. Takes all of 2 minutes.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had this issue with 3 separate Echo Pluses. Worked with Amazon Suoport every time and they were uselessness don’t listen. In the end just returned it to Best Buy and got another Echo Dot. Sorry this doesn’t answer your question but that was the solution to this problem in had multiple times across multiple devices.
