Hello Jack, All you need to get Alexa going at in your home is one Echo device. The Echo Show 11 is a great piece to start with. I have one in my kitchen that we use for recipes, listening to music and watching videos. Once you pick up your first Echo Show 11 and walk through the setup process you are off and running. The Echo Show 11 will come with Alexa already configured, if you would like to take advantage of Alexa+ which is our newest operating system it's included with an Amazon Prime membership. Otherwise, If you don't have Prime, once the Echo Show 11 is set up, you'll have full access to Alexa and she'll be able to help with household tasks such as shopping lists, display photos or millions of other functions!
